After shifting out of their Maine condo, a tenant left 19 tarantulas, 4 of them useless, for the owner to seek out.
In Auburn, Maine, well-known animal rescuer Drew Desjardins was referred to as to the condo on Wednesday, 13WGME reported. When he entered Desjardins discovered that 4 of the 19 tarantulas had died and a ball python did not have sufficient water to outlive. The following day he took the tarantulas and python to his dwelling and mentioned they’re “all doing simply fantastic.”
All of the recovered animals are unlawful in Maine and might be relocated.
Desjardins documented the rescue in a Fb publish that garnered consideration and concern from native residents. Some commenting they’re scared of tarantulas and might’t think about being in Desjardins’ footwear.

“The films present them as being these indestructible creatures that can simply come at you should you step on them and leap on individuals and assault them and run after you and that is not true,” Desjardins advised 13WGME. “Very shy and delicate. If I took out this tarantula proper now and dropped it on the bottom, it’ll break like an egg and die.”
He added that individuals are extra susceptible to die from bee stings than a tarantula chunk. As a full-time animal rescuer, Desjardins mentioned discovering 19 tarantulas is not stunning anymore.
“By no means a uninteresting second in my world,” Desjardins mentioned within the Fb publish.
